January 15, 2010- the day of annular solar eclipse.

Space Technology and Education Pvt. Ltd. in partnership with Louis Cruises, India is proud to announce India's First Eclipse Cruise. On the 15th of January 2010 south Asian countries will have a spectacular view to the longest Annular Solar Eclipse of the 3rd millennium.

The Eclipse Cruise (M/S Aquamarine) will sail off from Cochin on the 13th Jan 2010(3pm) and reach Male, Maldives(5pm) on 14th Jan 2010. On the 15th Jan 2010, the Eclipse Cruise will depart from Maldives at 3pm reaching Cochin on the 16th Jan 2010 at 5pm.

On the 15th January 2010, guests of Aquamarine (Cochin- Maldives- Cochin) will be in Maldives where the Annularity (a.k.a. ring of fire) will be visible for 10min46sec. The eclipse will start at 10:15:20 (Maldives local time) peaking at 12:25:43(Maldives local time) and ending at 13:23:14(Maldives local time). The above mentioned facts are for Male airport, Maldives.

During the Eclipse Cruise, a number of star parties will be organized at night. An Eclipse Watch on the 15th Jan will be organized on board to observe the solar eclipse and capture it safely in the cameras.

M/S Aquamarine is a 5 star Cruise, offering various facilities including swimming pool, gymnasium, casino etc. solar filters and solar goggles will be available on board the cruise to view the eclipse safely.
The stay in Maldives will be on board. During the 22hour stay at Male, Tender and speed boats will be accessible to the guests to explore the island of Maldives and enjoy the adventure sports available.

A team of 5 astronomers will be on board the Eclipse Cruise to conduct exciting ‘Star Parties’ and a specialized eclipse watch. The team is also highly trained in the helping the guests to capture the Solar Eclipse in their cameras to make the Trip a memorable one.
