Space in association with Interchange, the U.K. offers a unique discovery Programme investigating the finest and most fascinating astronomy sites in India. This Programme starts this year. The Observatory Group from U.K. visits India to various observatories in different states starting from Mumbai - Pune – Ahmedabad – Mount Abu – Udaipur – Jaipur – Agra –Nanital and lastly New Delhi.

One of the objectives through this visit is to raise the interest and awareness of Astronomy. The Science and Astronomy like many others Sciences was discovered in India and from there travelled to other countries. India is moving ahead in the Space race and become the second country in the world to achieve the difficult feat after Russia, putting 10 satellites into orbit some 600 KM above the Earth, rocketing India into Space History, on Saturday the 26th April 2008, of these 2 were from India and 8 from Canada, Japan, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands who participated in the Cartosat 2a mission. |
